Jadzia Abigail Lichtenberger
December 9, 2004 - March 19, 2018
I was home alone when I assisted in delivering Jadzia into the world in my old home in Lewis Center Ohio. She was one of 6 pups born to Kira and Jacob on December 9th, 2004. Since that day more than 13 years ago, Jadz has been at my side through all the changes life has to offer. For the last six years, Ty has grown to become her “mama,” and the best of pals with her “bubba” Barley. The three of us laid Jadz to rest peacefully at OSU on March 19 following a number of health issues that have plagued her for the last couple of years. I take a small bit of solace knowing that she’s now comfortable, back to her usual self. Some of Jadz’s favorite activities were bucking like a wild bronco, getting her back scratched, making window art, and of course, eating. She was particularly fond of cheesy poofs. A few of the pet names Ty and I affectionately labeled her include “Sloppy Sue” and “Jadzilla.” She was a kind and loving dog who was best friends to all that knew her. In time, this sadness that now occupies my days will too pass—remedied by thoughts of Jadzia spending afternoons on a sunny hillside in Heaven with Kira and Jacob, followed by a few unlatched trashcans to dig through before bed. Run free, baby girl. Run free.
