Sophia McMaster

February 4, 2014 - February 5, 2022

We met sophia at the Delaware Humane society. She didn't like being there with all those cats, and all the cats knew that. She sat at the highest point of a scratch post so no one would bother her. Our family visited the Humane Society for a few weeks and Sophia was still there. My youngest fell in love with her. Telling me - we should adopt her because no one else has. We took her home that day, the day after Christmas. Her fluffy white fur graced our floors ever since. Sophia loved to be loved when she wanted to be loved. And she had her routine, mostly involving my youngest child. But she would surprise me and my oldest sometimes by snuggling us. Sophia could not resist popcorn, chicken and pasta. She could be in the deepest of naps but the rattle of a popcorn bag would call her name. The past summer we fostered kittens and we saw a new side of Sophia. Motherly, loving and playful. What a joy! We adopted one of our fosters and Sophia and Komori entertained us with daily wrestling matches. Our time with Sophia was not long enough. Our hearts were not ready to say goodbye. We thanked her for being a part of our family and I know she thanked us for picking her when no one else did. The love we have for our Sophia will last forever. -Love, The McMaster Family
