what you need to know
We're here for you and your pet every step of the way.
When your pet is at your veterinarian's office
When you've made the difficult decision to euthanize your pet at your veterinarian's office, we will transport her into our care directly from the clinic. Just let the staff at the clinic know you want to use our services and give us a call at 614-224-0010. We will be there within 24 hours to transfer your pet.
Once your pet is in our care, a member of our team will call you to go over any necessary information and process your payment for the service fee.
When your pet is ready to come home, you may pick her up from any of our chapels in Central Ohio or from your veterinarian's clinic.
If your pet is at home with you
When your pet has died at your home, you have a couple of options. Most families prefer to bring their pets directly to our Pets department located at our Midtown chapel. We are open 7 days a week to serve you and your pet. Click here for our hours and location.
If your pet has died at home after our business hours, Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service has a funeral director on call 24 hours a day. After business hours, please call 614-224-6105.
It is sometimes possible to make arrangements to leave your pet in the care of one of our chapels around Central Ohio. If this is your preference, please contact us so we may assist with the transfer of your pet from the chapel to our Pet Services department.
We can also come to your home to transfer your pet into our care. There is a $300 fee for this service in addition to the cremation service fee.

What's next
Once your pet is in our care, she is carefully labeled and placed in her own temperature-controlled space. Our couriers and crematory operators handle your pet with the utmost care and respect; we understand she is part of your family.
When the cremation is complete, one of our team members will call you to let you know. Once your pet has been transferred to the chapel or veterinary clinic you may bring her home at your convenience.
